VOTE - FOR A BETTER PAISLEY!
"If Renfrewshire Council wants to regenerate our Town - IT MUST, UP ITS GAME. - Renfrewshire Council owns over 150 properties throughout the borough but only THREE within Paisley town centre. - Spending £42m on a museum that could only have worked had we got the City of Culture title is a momentus mistake." - Jim McIlroy.
Renfrewshire Council Local Elections
Local Government is where the decisions that matter to people, in their communities and impact on all of us every day are agreed. - Its about schools, education, community issues, waste and recycling, housing, care for the elderly, nurseries, childcare, planning and regeneration, leisure, culture and tourism, jobs and apprenticeships, roads, transport, parking, and council tax.
Holyrood or Westminster, where NATIONAL POLICY is agreed is often used as a "smokescreen" in local politics to bash one party or another, "but please do not confuse the two". - Local elections are about Local Services and having Councillors (who you think) will make a difference and deliver better services for your council tax money! - On these pages you'll find out what I've done and I'm doing as a local activist.
Community Issues are So Important
Every electoral ward has issues however some are being left behind due to (weak representation) by current councillors. - To give an instance - "NOT ONE PAISLEY SOUTHEAST COUNCILLOR" has reached out to offer help to the most important campaign in Paisley at this time. "Save the RAI Campaign".
The old RAI is something I'm (fighting to save) and we have plans for an exciting blend of housing, community, leisure and commercial venue that will be unique to the Southend and will bring local jobs and footfall to the area. - I'm campaigning for this heritage building as I believe (the next five-years) will be important for Paisley and it's regeneration - and I'd be honoured to do more for my home town.
The SAVE the RAI Campaign
This is my campaign to "STOP THE ROT" and save an important Paisley landmark from the (wrecking ball)
Whether I'm elected or not I will go on from there and put a "STOP" to absent owners who are neglecting important buildings, who have "NO INTEREST" in our Town and are obliterating our HISTORY.
It's been a great success and I've managed to make this Council take more action than they've done in the last DECADE. - In the last year almost 1,500 Paisley Buddies have backed me, as they want to put an end to people who buy listed buildings and do nothing with them. - And We're Getting Things Done!
